A sustainability campaign helps conference organisers turn good intentions into practical actions. Instead of communicating all sustainability information at once, share small, useful pieces of knowledge with your community over time.
This artifact provides a reusable structure for creating a Sustainability Knowledge Drops campaign for your conference. Adapt the topics, timing, examples and communication channels to your own event.

Download campaign filesHow the campaign works?
A knowledge-drop campaign consists of a series of short communications published regularly in the weeks leading up to the conference. Each knowledge drop focuses on one sustainability topic and gives participants a concrete idea, fact, or action they can take.
What do I need to do?
1- To set up your own campaign, you can start by defining a timeline: your campaign can run weekly, bi-weekly, or according to the rhythm of your conference communication plan.
2- Create the materials for the campaign: download the materials available on this resources page and update the visuals to your campaign.
| Drop | Suggested topic | Purpose | When? |
|---|---|---|---|
| 01 | Travel sustainably | Encourage low-carbon travel choices. | At registration |
| 02 | Sustainable food | Show that sustainable food can be healthy and enjoyable. | Before the conference |
| 03 | Why meet in person? | Help participants maximise the value of their trip. | Before the conference |
| 04 | Carbon reduction & offsetting | Explain the hierarchy of avoiding, reducing and offsetting emissions. | Before the conference |
| 05 | Sustainable digital infrastructure | Raise awareness of the environmental impact of websites and digital services. | Before the conference |
| 06 | Community ideas | Share lessons learned and invite the community to contribute. | Before or after the conference |
3- Set up the communication channels : check which communication channels you will use to disseminate the campaign (LinkedIn, Websites, etc.). Schedule the posts with pictures and legends containing the appropriate information.
4- Check the engagement: After releasing the posts, check the engagement with the publications and answer the comments (if applicable). Incentivate your conference committee to share the publications to increase visibility.
